“Years after The X-Files made them a famous TV couple, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson seemed to confirm talk that they are an off-screen couple too with their touchy-feely PaleyFest appearance in NYC. The pair celebrated the 20th anniversary of the show’s debut on Oct. 12, and according to a source were “very lovey, always touching. She either had her arm wrapped around his waist or he had his arm around her shoulder.” They were spotting at Comic Con the next day arriving and leaving together.

The Huffington Post releases an interview David did for Season 10. He randomly name drops Gillian and “invites” her into the fun.
Huffington Post: Makes sense. If you did meet aliens from another planet in real life, what would you say?
David: I don’t know [laugh]. Gillian [Anderson] is sitting right here.
[To Gillian] What if you met aliens? What would be the first thing you’d say to them?
[To HuffPost] “Would you like some clothes?” She would give the coat off her back to an alien.
Huffington Post: [Laugh] That’s awesome.
David: That’s very beautiful.

Okay, this is going to be a long answer, so if you aren’t interested in reading, feel free to scroll by.
Let me first address this interview that’s pissing so many people off. Do I think that’s something Gillian should have shared with a reporter? No. (And it’s not the only thing she’s said in the past that i don’t agree with. Believe me). That being said, we don’t know what kinds of discussions Piper and Gillian have had on the topic. I’m sure they both knew, with Gillian doing a show called Sex Education, that she was going to get asked in promo about the sex talk with her own kids. IMO, this is something between Piper and Gillian. Whether you think it’s great she shared it (yes, some on Twitter do), or not, it’s between them.
Next, I’m honestly tired of the ongoing grudge that so many in this fandom seem to have against her that started since PM showed up. It’s like as soon as she does one thing that irks people now, they see it as an excuse to start attacking her and/or rambling on about their disappointment in her because of other shit they still haven’t gotten over. Be disappointed. It’s your right. I don’t care.
But if Gillian (or David), bothers you so much, or you find her “disappointing”…IGNORE her. Don’t keep up with her projects. Don’t follow her interviews. Unfollow her on social media. Avoid fan blogs that support her. You don’t have to like her, so why do you care what she’s up to if you don’t like her? Move on then.
And, honestly, consider moving on from Gillovny. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I do not understand the people who ship two people together when they don’t even like one (or both) of them. This fandom seems to hold an ongoing grudge against David and Gillian at various times, and if I had to guess, it’s because they either think they broke up, they feel deceived by them or they’re mad that they won’t confirm their relationship. Who the hell knows. If you’re “disappointed” in either D or G, then that’s your right. But if it were me, I’d move the hell on and find a new ship or a new fandom that I find less “disappointing.”
